At the same time that the Democratic party is waging a full-on, media-backed assault on the President, using fake news, phony evidence, and hysterical rhetoric to try to unseat a duly elected president, the Big Tech giants who have become the gatekeepers of the flow of information in this fast-paced digital worlds are censoring and banning conservatives at the drop of the hat.
This has not escaped the notice of President Trump, who alone has had the fortitude to stand up against the mainstream, hate-Trump media and tell them that Americans won’t take their crap anymore.
Well, he’s issuing the same warning to Twitter.
He’s demanding the network allow conservatives who have banned back on lest they make a “giant mistake.”
“Twitter should let the banned Conservative Voices back onto their platform, without restriction. It’s called Freedom of Speech, remember. You are making a Giant Mistake!” Trump wrote on, well, Twitter on Sunday.
This message comes as his reelection campaign is considering opening an account on a conservative alternative to Twitter.
A senior member of the Trump campaign told reporters back in May that the president was considering joining Parler, a startup social media network launched in 2018 to supply conservatives with an alternative to notoriously leftist Twitter.
The Parler app works similarly to that of Twitter. User’s poses are limited to 1,000 characters, and their followers can either “vote” or “echo” the message, rather than “like” or “retweet.”
The company is still very small, with roughly 100,000 users in total. Twitter, meanwhile, claims 326 million users.
The Trump campaign, meanwhile, has been blasting social media networks like Twitter and Facebook for their blatant bias and discrimination against conservatives and his supporters.
This is not the first time the President has called out Twitter’s censorship of conservatives, slamming them in the past for shadowbanning conservative accounts.
In May, an internet troll that Trump frequently retweets was locked out of his account for supposedly violating the company’s rules of conduct.
The user, Carpe Donktum, was suspended after creating a meme that mocked CNN White House correspondent, Jim Acosta.
His account was restored two days later, but many conservatives, like Alex Jones and Milo Yiannopolous, remain permanently banned from the network.
