WHY CALL A CONVENTION OF STATES?

Simple: to bring power back to the states and the people, where it belongs. Unelected bureaucrats in Washington, D.C. shouldn’t be allowed to make sweeping decisions that impact millions of Americans. But right now, they do. So it all boils down to one question: Who do you think should decide what’s best for you and your family? You, or the feds? We’d vote for the American people every single time.

WHAT’S A CONVENTION OF STATES ANYWAY?

Article V of the U.S. Constitution gives states the power to call a Convention of States to propose amendments. It takes 34 states to call the convention and 38 to ratify any amendments that are proposed. Our convention would only allow the states to discuss amendments that, “limit the power and jurisdiction of the federal government, impose fiscal restraints, and place term limits on federal officials.”

WHO’S BEHIND THIS THING?

The American people. We thought you’d never ask! The Convention of States Project is first and foremost a movement of grassroots citizens who are fed up with business as usual in D.C. We’re funded by thousands of everyday patriots who have committed their lives, fortunes, and sacred honor to protecting liberty for future generations.

During WWII the People of America united and their power was enough to win wars on both fronts. This scared what we now call the Deep State and they’ve spent much of their time programming the American public to be the apathetic, compliant, divided, powerless sheep they are today. It’s time to WAKE UP!
We’ve got at most 5 years to fix our nation or it will become the next socialist paradise, just like Venezuela! Here’s the good news, WE can fix things our Founding Fathers foresaw the need for it and so they gave us the Convention of States. It’s from Article V of the U.S. Constitution and it allows the states to propose amendments to add to the Constitution, just as Congress has always done, to rein in our out-of-control government. The topics up for debate are term limits, a balanced budget and other restraints on elected and unelected officials. Let’s give the power back to the states and the People, where it belongs. This is NOT a Republican thing or a Democrat thing, it is a People of United States of America thing. Unity and Division

Why is this country in so much danger of being destroyed? Fear, that’s right Fear. The opposition is very frightened of this experiment the Founding Fathers started over 200 years ago. The idea of an entire country of people that were not oppressed or divided or controlled was rather scary to them so they set up dividing the American people into groups and infiltrating the government in an attempt to oppress and/or control us. Well, prior to the Civil War they managed a great division, slave owners vs. non-slave owners, and it led to the Civil War itself. After the war they had another group they could divide the American people into and later, with increasing population, came more divisions. We are now divided by gender, age, religion, sexual orientation, ethnicity, political perspective….

But amidst all of this artificial division we are but one people…we are all Americans! United we have tremendous power to accomplish almost anything. We’ve seen glimpses of it and this is exactly why they have been fighting so hard to divide us. If we unite, we can defeat them! One of the huge glimpses is WW2 when we rose and defeated the Japanese imperialists on one side and the Nazis on the other.

Other glimpses were when a group of Americans ‘educated’ the NFL by destroying their ratings and their fantasy of invincibility. Another is a small group targeting Target. Another is what a small group is doing to Dick’s Sporting Goods. And there are many more of these glimpses. Unfortunately, we have been so conditioned that we believe we can’t really have that kind of power for long. It’s like after keeping a prisoner in a cell for long enough you can leave the cell door unlocked and he/she will not even attempt to leave.

If we were to unite behind the Convention of States movement we could take back control from our overreaching, corrupt federal government and return to the states and the People the rights and responsibilities the Founding Fathers had in mind when they drafted the Constitution.
