Trump Issues First Veto

President Trump recently made history by issuing his first veto since taking office. His deputy press secretary stated that this was a sad moment but one that was very important.According to Fox News:

White House Principal Deputy Press Secretary Hogan Gidley said President Trump's first veto since taking office is a sad yet important moment.

Trump is set Friday afternoon to veto a resolution that blocks his declaration of a national emergency at the border.

On "Outnumbered Overtime" Friday, Gidley said Democrats are forcing Trump to take executive action to secure funding for his long-promised border wall.

"[There's] a lack of understanding and belief on the part of Democrats in Congress to recognize the serious, severe crisis we face along our southern border and to recognize the emergency that exists in this country," Gidley said.

12 Republican lawmakers voted against President Trump who the White House says was looking out for the safety and security of the American people.
